With a test of painting complete for October it is time to muster the first army for the Second War for Armageddon, the Blood Angels.
As with October I plan to enter, or at least paint along with, another Instagram challenge for the next phase of the Blood Angels army. This time its the 40k 2nd Edition Army Challenge 3, where participants paint 2nd edition 1000points in 6 months, documenting their progress. Ive followed previous editions of this challenge and been amazed by the models people paint, so hopefully I can add my own to the tally.Sunday, October 31, 2021
The Trial - A Venerable Ancient
I needed a challenge and what I stumbled upon was a painting challenge on Instagram named #dreadtober (and compiled on a blog by the creator 'm4cr0dutch') to build and paint a Dreadnought in a month (October). What better starting point for my 2nd edition force than that the Venerable Ancient walking coffin, and a huge chunk of metal in both the lore and the hand.
Introduction - Battle for Armageddon
In the early 90's I was introduced to Games Workshop and Warhammer through playing a school friends older brothers new game, Space Hulk. Being only 8 or 9 at the time I was amazed by the cool models. Over the next few years I collected small forces from a range of Games Workshop games but 40k was always my favourite.
