40k2ndACVII - Contact on long range scanners, its reinforcements!

With a long test of patience, the Blood Angels are finally receiving reinforcements. 

Ive signed up for 40k 2nd Edition Army Challenge, edition 7!

As with my previous entry we are painting 1000pts of 2nd Edition 40k, over 6 months. You split your army into 5 parts, leaving a spare month as a buffer due to any bumps on the road.  I really enjoyed my last participation so cant wait to get stuck in.

This time the challenge is hosted by Dr. The Viking and The Wachtmeister, so thanks to both of them for shouldering the responsibilities to let more of us participate. Another bonus this time around is a forum for discussion and shared motivation and general all round back-patting and great vibes, hosted on the Crown of Command Discord (link on his Youtube channel here).  I was already on this and the lovely people on there is what pushed me to pull my thumb out and join the challenge.

I would have loved to start a new project for this, but I have so many marines begging for paint I really needed to harness this challenge for its motivation and get my Blood Angels up to a good size (and my unpainted pile down at least a little bit) before I move onto something else. With that in mind my pledge for Edition 7 (VII) is to bulk out my army with missing unit, keeping with my previous theme of the 2nd Angels of Death Codex and 2nd Ed Box art.

I have an incomplete Devastator squad from the previous challenge so the other 5 of those guys are included. And i never painted the official Blood Angels Tactical Squad from the period, so they are in too. That leaves the Assault Squad (my favorite models) as my missing unit, so they fill out the list. What else to add? well a big banner is very 2nd, and how can i not include an original Tycho.
